That's so strange. I haven't heard that quote in YEARS, and I actually had a t-shirt with it written on and some mad picture of the Red Dwarf cast. What a strange and random memory.

What happened to Chris Barrie? He was a comedy giant back in the 90s, yet I haven't seen him since, well, the 90s probably.

Watch 2012 and write a review for that. If you don't give that shower of shite anything but a 2/10 or lower then I'm not being your friend anymore!

Got it but not seen it yet.

Bobbins you reckon obviously.

Don't bother. Seriously. Do yourself a favour and free up some hard drive space.

13 Assassins 2011

Japanese film about 13 Samurai tasked with killing the brutally evil brother of the Shogun before he can ascend to power, directed by Takashi Miike who is more readily known for Horror/Action films such as Audition or Ici The Killer it epitomises everything about feudal era Japan and builds steadily and effectively to the climactic showdown in a rural village between the Assassins and 200 soldiers, quite possibly the best action sequence i have ever seen.get past the subtitles people and check this out......Monumental,stupendous,essential!!!!!! 10/10

Killer Elite 2011
This is based on a book by Ranulph Feinnes, which I only realised I had read halfway into the movie. Stars Jason Statham with Bob de Niro as his aging partner. It was different enough from the book for me not to realise and, to be honest, I had forgotten all about it.
If SAS-style militry capers are your "bag" then this is for you. I found it a bit "Sweeny-esque" in that it was set 30+ years ago and a little retro in style, mainly due to one of the leads sporting a handlebar moustache and them driving Cortinas and suchlike! The movie itself is watchable with a decent enough plot, though many will find it predictable, despite the attempted twist in the tale. Fairly regular fare from Statham and he doesn't disappoint in his usual role as the "British" Willis!

They do get the 80's military stuff pretty spot on and any Army Barmy amongst you will love it. De Niro will, surely, be seeing this as his last stab at an all action role, he is knocking on a bit for all this stuff.

Watchable but no Oscars, 6.8.

Once 2006

Excellent low budget affair set in Dublin and introducing us to a young Irish busker and a Czech girl living there with her daughter and mother. The music is ace and the mood just right. Also it avoids the trite.

Good stuff.

It's Complicated 2010

Light hearted affair with Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin with excellent performances from the pair ably supported by Steve Martin. Streep and Baldwin divorced he with new young wife but never quite got over Streep who 10 years on he indulges in an affair with. Well conceived, light hearted and very good of its kind. Maybe a tad overlong.

The Adjustment Bureau 2011

With Matt Damon and Emily Blunt this one's all about destiny with "other worldly" intervention taking place in the lives of a politician and a ballet dancer. Quite intriuging stuff, this one certainly kept my interest and is a decent enough effort of its type.

Contagion 2011

Another one with Matt Damon and a host of other stars, though poor Gwynneth kops it within 10 minutes!

This is another Worldwide virus threat movie and, it has to be said, pretty generic, doesn't break too much delft but it kept my attention for the best part of 2 hours, so it is watchable. Makes you think (a little) about how real this kinda threat could be. Ends suddenly but not without explaining things.

The Ides of March 2011
No blood'n'guts or sex'n'violence in this one, pure political character drama, George Cloone directs and co-stars and there are some excellent performances in the cast, particurlarly Philip Seymour Hoffman and Paul Giamatti who are campaign managers for the Ohio primary election trying to get opposing Democrat candidates in to office. Ryan Gosling is the star as an up and coming press officer who gets embroiled in the shady side of politics and tries to win it all. Good cameo from Marisa Tomei too. Great acting all round and a good, honest (as politics can be) film, 7.8

Bonded By Blood 2010

Some bad ass Essex boys get blown away (true story apparently). If they were anything like how they are portrayed in the film it definitely shouldn't have been against the law to kill them. Not a single likeable character in the whole film, a bunch of odious twats. Also the highest "cunt" count of any movie I've ever seen.

Anything to do with the Land Rover murders back in the 90s? If so, there's been about three or four films based on that already. Seems a little tired now.
