Unthinkable 2010

Topical stuff this featuring home grown terrorist (the excellent Michael Sheen) threatening to detonate 3 nuclear devices in major US cities. The film concentrates on the dilemnas created by such scenarios when with Sheen in captivity the question of how far to go with his torture (and that of his family) is constantly asked. Samuel L. Jackson does a fine job as the torturer and Carrie-Ann Moss does reasonably well as a restraining influence. A few twists and turns along the way and an interesting ending make for decent viewing.

I knew it would be. I have no desire to see that film at all, not even for the tits. I just don't understand men going crazy for tits or shagging in a movie. If you want tits or shagging then watch a porn film, it's quite simple.

The World According To Garp 1982

I watched this after being very impressed with John Irving's book. Not really an easy book to make a film of but this was not a bad stab. With a young Robin Williams and Glen Close along with an excellent John Lithgow this works quite well though I'm not too sure what someone who had not read the novel would've made of it. They avoid a few issues here and gloss over some very poignant parts of Irving's storyline but I still had a good feeling about it and found it quite watchable.

The Losers

CIA/Seals get screwed over by their country while in Bolivia, they try and get back at their employers with the help of the female interest in the movie (the one from star trek, i keep forgetting her name). Not enough action in the movie, lots of cliche scenes and woldnt even say the movie ended.

On another note the woman has gotta be the sexiest actress in the world at the mo, I wouldnt mind tapping dat ass. Her body is absolutely banging.....anyways the film

5/10

I didn't mind The Crazies. Wasn't great by any stretch, but worth a look if you're into zombie films.

Zoe Saldana. The one from Avatar that Willy had as his avatar I think.

The Blues Brothers 1980

Quite simply one of the best films ever made. This is my 7th or 8th viewing of this masterpiece and my enjoyment was heightened by the fact that this was a special edition with all kinds of interviews with John Landis, Dan Akroyd, Steve Cropper, Duck Dunn etc etc. Check Twiggy out in it too. The music scenes are unparalleled with the marvellous James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Cab Calloway and John Lee Hooker all featuring. The car chases are both truly marvellous and the dialogue is superb:

Elwood: "It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses"

Jake: "Hit it"

Salt 2010

Angelina Jolie vehicle, a pretty stupid film which stretches the imagination a bit too far especially in the action scenes. The plot is promising at first but then makes a pretty quick transition into the absurd. Wait for the DVD if at all.

The Wolfman 2010

Not really my sort of thing normally but as it had Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins in it I thought I'd give it a try. There's only so much you can do with a werewolf movie really though and this one again reinforced that point. Pretty absurd plot, half decent acting from the two main protagonists doesn't rescue this from my shit pile I'm afraid.
