Englands Worst XI

Post by rob_of_the_robots on Thu May 27, 2010 8:45 am

I saw a program last night on BBC3 discussing which players would be in Englands worst XI. They went for:

GK - Peter Bonetti
RB - Warren Barton
CB - Keith Curle
CB - John Terry (Captain)
LB - Phil Neville
RM - Kieron Dyer
CM - Carlton Palmer
CM - Joey Barton
LM - Steve Hodge
ST - Michael Ricketts
ST - John Fashanu

They put Terry in there in the captain spot because of his recent exploits in the media. Don't think he should be though.

Oh and the manager was Steve McClaren.

They did initially choose Kevin Keegan but he resigned.

Peter Andre is Australian or something as well

EDIT: Although, seeing as none of them have represented heir countries at international level and have been residents in the UK for at least 5 years then they'd be eligible to play for England. Eat that you pedants!

Andre was born in London I think, just because his music is criminal, doesn't mean he should be labelled Australian.

Inter Milan are after Lampard, after his showing in the world cup im sure his value would have halved

Still one of the best midfielders in the world at club level, so I doubt his poor World Cup will make much difference to his value.
