General Election

Post by arover on Sat Mar 13, 2010 10:10 am

Coming up soon I am led to believe.

What's the feeling on here kids?

Can anyone really stomach Cameron and Tory rule?

Even though New Labour are appalling at times are they not the lesser of two evils?

Hung Parliament and its consequences?

I dont vote simply because it is now a case of which bunch of retards tell you how to live your life, and then tax you for the privilege.

cameron or brown......i would think the lesser of 2 evils is cameron. Labour will try and butter everyone up before the election with good news for us all in the pre-election budget, but then make money back by taxing us more when they get elected. The tories will have to raise taxes just to correct Labours mistakes, either way its not good news. I expect a hung parliament, although i dont have a clue what happens with this out come.

Biggest shock will be BNP winning a lot of seats again

A hung parliament would mean we'd see the Lib Dems having some influence on policy or there'd be another election in 6 months or so.

Really it doesn't matter who wins the election, we need a change of culture, not policy.

Indeed. Labour have made such a cock up of things but I doubt the Tories would be any better and that George Osborne guy just makes my skin crawl.

That bastard knocked on my door once when he was campaigning. The only reason I din't hit him was because I wasn't sure how much time I would have to do.

My voting card shall be used for roach material, as it was last year, the year before, and...in fact, it has been every time I've had one come through the door.

It makes absolutely no difference. The rules are all made by the same people, so voting is ultimately pointless.

Because it's a show, a pantomime, and can be marketed like that. Stupid? Yeah, just a bit.

What got on my wick recently was various friends wanting to chat with me about voting, when 300+ days out of the year I can't get two serious words about politics out of any of them. That sums up the mentality of the country for me; people have no idea what they're actually voting for, they just do it because it's the 'done thing'. They're only interested once it's election time, the rest of the time they're too lazy to read a book or learn something about politics.

Sad but probably reasonably accurate.

I'm not going to vote for the Conservatives or Labour, and I don't like the Lib Dems policies despite all this sudden popularity. None of the others are going to win, so there isn't really a point in me voting.

The other options available are BNP, UKIP, English Democrats and Christian Peoples Alliance. Looks like it's a no-vote for me. Labout will probably win though seeing as we've had the same Labour MP since 1992 affraid He's stepped down this year though.

Political discussions are so much hassle. I've just spent the last hour back-and-forthing with people on Facebook about democracy and the like. I feel mentally shattered, just wanna go to bed now.
