Football's Next Star

Post by DeadlyRovers on Fri Feb 19, 2010 1:16 am

Just wondering if any spammers watched this series on Sky 1? It finished on the sunday just gone with one lad winning a contract with Inter Milan. Basically 10 of the best young footballers from around the country were chosen to go to Italy to spend 5 weeks training at Inter Milan's training complex. Each week one would get eliminated till they found the winner who was handed the Inter shirt by Mourinho at the end. For what it's worth I think Hichem should have won, the guy was a goal machine and scored every game but somehow was eliminated before the final. Bad decision. Anybody else see it?

Chef, for some reason Craig reminded me of Keith Andrews. Maybe it's the Irishness about him, I dunno. But yeah he was a good player, box to box midfielder. Did you see that cracking half volley he scored from about 30 yards out in one of the training matches? It was a beauty. I've heard that he turned down the contract because he was too homesick and couldn't stay in Italy. Just a rumour though. Ben reminds me of a Downing type player, would be interesting to hear how he is getting on. For all we know he may have been released by Inter as this was filmed about 6 months ago.

Hichem is looking set to join QPR, I also thought he should have won, he was knocked out in the semi not the final....on a side note he was criticised for running too deep, but still scored in almost every game..surely its working cant see why they could use that excuse

Oh yeah it was in the semi that he was sent home. The coach said he didn't stay in the box enough for a striker. He deserved to be in the final because the guy was a great finisher. He scored in almost every game so what was the problem? I've also heard about the QPR link.
