Rage Against The Machine - Xmas Number 1

Post by Guest on Sun Dec 13, 2009 11:46 am

LET'S GET RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE TO THE CHRISTMAS NO.1 SPOT!

Q: So how do we do this then?
A: Take your pick(s) of the digital providers below. It should take you to the page where you can purchase your copy of KILLING IN THE NAME. in most cases it's track#2 but check before you click!

Q: Why have you used shortened links?
A: It gives us a ROUGH idea of how we are doing on sales. I can get a click count this way

Q: But there's other websites now offering RAGE for Xmas links?
A: Yes, but these links right here were created by the creators of the whole campaign themselves. They are not 'affiliate' links so therefore nobody gets any sort of 'commision'. You don't need to go anywhere else.

Q: When do i buy 'Killing In The Name'?
A: NOW until Saturday 19th December at 23:59pm

** DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT 10 TIMES OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT...IT'LL JUST GET ANNULLED FROM THE CHART **
read- http://bit.ly/dontbuyloads (interesting from James)

iTUNES - 99p - track #2 (click on 'view in itunes' on the right)

HMV.COM - 79p (careful - this is track #1)

Went out to a casino last night and we stopped for a drink at one of the bars, and there was a woman making noises that she thought passed for Jazz, and she asked if anyone had any requests, just after one guy said "Stop singing", I asked if she knew Let the bodies hit the floor or Killing in the name of, she wasnt bessed pleased.

Sounds lioke a good plan, i shall pass the details on to some friends, they will jump onboard.

Simon Cowell is moaning and has called it petty, all the more reason to get it methinks.

It's a great idea and it would be awesome to see the wank-factor fall flat for the number one spot, but you know the music industry - it's so rigged to the nines that it will never happen.

Was there not some similar campaign last year to try and make the Jeff Buckley incredible version of Hallejuliah to number 1 for Christmas instead of some mong's version who had just won something similar?

I think it failed too?

It hasn't failed yet, my pessimistic friend.

Yes there was a similar campaign last year, seemed a less lot organised and smaller than this year though. 600k people bought Alexandras version of Halleluiah last year and although it was a poor version it was still a good song. This year it is an absolutely terrible song and with 700k in the group on facebook all it takes is for each person to buy one copy and it should do it. Obviously not everyone will do but lots of people are buying multiple copies, so could be quite close.

Sorry I didn't mean it failed as well as the one this year I just meant it failed. Phrased it badly I think.

Good luck to the campaign.

Cheers although you are probably going to be correct anyway. Looks like Joe is winning the race as he has moved into number 1 spot on itunes and amazon. HMV and Play still good for RATM but I'm not too confident. Probably end selling a ridiculous amount due to xfactor fans multi buying to counteract the Ragers.

We appear to be winning. Not sure if that is a good thing as may prompt more Joe supporters to buy. Plus CD comes out tomorrow

Figures released today have RATM ahead by 65k,

Looks like the Facebook group has gone down again. Gets blamed on the activity but I have seen larger groups than this one before that never seemed to crash.

Joes CD is in shops today priced at £3.99 so hopefully will put people off buying it, doubt it though as I doubt anyone stupid enough to buy that piece of crap has no concept on money.

Apparently William Hill have them as joint favourites both at 5/6 now. Think RATM was 100-1 a month ago, 20-1 2 weeks ago and 10-1 last week. Why didn't I put some money on it.

Still not got it yet though. Still need people to buy, 29p!!

I was reading the comments left from X-Factor fans on the ITV website earlier, and it's really quite funny how incredibly stupid so many of them are. They seem to fail to understand the media machine completely and of course think that the sun shines out of Joe McEldery's arse. He's a good singer don't get me wrong, but what the fuck. If he is clever enough to write his own material, which I don't think he can or will, then it will be shit. What experiences in life does he have for song writing that isn't diferent to the rest of the X-factor wank?

Just bought it. Already had it in my iTunes library, but if I can be part of breaking Cowell's monopolising of the charts then it's woth 99p.
