Sky Player

Post by Guest on Sun Jul 19, 2009 10:57 pm

Since I am a cheapskate, I've been looking at this a bit.

If someone has the full sky package and either multiroom or the top level sky broadband they can watch Sky sports online. You used to be able to register sky player on up to four computers, meaning that many people had it registered on their home computer, their work computer, their cosuins work computer etc. Unfortunately this is now limited to 1 computer due to technical difficulties at skys end.

Anyway, I don't have Sky, I have freesat through Sky (which by the way is shit, you cant even get Dave despite this being on freeview), but luckily my sister has Sky unlimited Inet, She did not have the full sky package as she and my Brother in Law are not sport fans. However on friday I rang up sky pretending to be my brother in law and managed to get 6 months sport half price with no need to carry on after.

This means for £4.50 a month (paid to my sister) I can now watch sky sports (albeit through my computer and 90 secs behind). I am currently using it to watch the ashes but I am unsure whether I will get to watch Prem football on it. I cant see any reason why not as I used to watch setanta through my comp, however I have been unable to watch the Amir Khan build up and WWE wrestling so far.

Anyone used this before and if so can you watch the football (I'm not bothered about WWE it was just on after the ashes and I got a message saying I couldn't watch it)?

We get stuff here on all kinds of Albanian and Greek channels, struggling for the Ashes though.

Test Match Special sorts that though.

Bravo's not free,

If you have the full sky package and the top spec inet they do you can watch online. If you have just sport and inet I imagine you can as my sister had movies and Inet and I could watch the movie channels, well 2 of them

Because sky player is now available through xbox but by doing so have fucked up the entire system so I cannot log on to watch.

and also because of what RD said

Then surely it would be skys fault, not Xbox owners

If xbox owners didn't exist sky wouldn't have buggered up.

Xbox owners not existing may still not account for the eventual creation of an Xbox, thus creating Xbox owners. Perhaps you ought to eridicate the Xbox, and not it's owners Sir Wilbo.

Technology is more important than human beings, so keep the xbox, get rid of people who buy them. Everyone knows that robots are the future

If Sky didn't exist we'd still have some decent sport on terrestrial channels.
