6 pages of almost uninterrupted Deadly, but as the end of the tournament draws near the organisers have a problem...

...that's right, the audience have fallen asleep in their seats. The excitement was so unbearable that one of the younger spectators (a 73-year-old Sheffield man named Norman) lost control of his bladder. Never has a sport had such a high mortality rate amongst the fans, I'm sure you'll all agree it truly was sensational stuff.

(Apologies Deadly and all other snooker fanatics. In my defence I was bored and true fans of the sport won't remember by tomorrow anyway. And if they do they'll just take their angina medication and reminisce about the war. Just to reiterate, sorry.)

It's not that I'm a snookerist (chalk that one up for me, OldhamRover 1 - Shakespeare 1,700), I just don't find it entertaining to watch for hours on end, and this year I haven't seen any at all so the thread that I've ridiculed has ironically kept me abreast of the situation.

It really has been an incredibly boring evening. And I might not be thinking entirely clearly. Anyway, point is I used to watch snooker with my granddad and I like it even if you think it's a waste of time, DR, you can't change my mind on this.

I'll leave quietly before I do myself real damage.

It's great imo but aye it's not everyone's cup of tea. I used to go to the guild hall in Preston all the time when a tournament was staged there, got on telly a couple of times too Wink But now the barstuds have moved it to York instead Sad

Strange incident involving Shaun Murphy tonight. Robertson was about to play a shot but needed his extension, however he left it in the changing room and told the ref. Murphy was asked if Robertson could go and get it and he said no. wtf scratch

What did he aim to achieve by saying no. He brings on the hostility himself does Murphy.

NOW can u see why no one likes him......i mentioned it before that due to tv scheduling Murphy vs McGuire was being played early a few years ago, everyone was told except McGuire, he found out in the last minute and rushed to the venue when he arrived Murphy was asked if he would take this into consideration instead of taking a 2 frame lead (not sure exactly how many frames lead) instead of being understanding he said he will take the lead much to the disgust of fans, McGuire and spectators watching.

Robertson will win the tournament

He's not well liked it seems.

Muphy leads Robertson 9-5 in this first to 17 battle. Not looking good for your boy so far dodgy.

I heard that he plays pool these days. Not heard about him for a while on the snooker circuit.

Robertson has woke up suddenly. It has ended 9-7 to Murphy for today.

Oh, and I always thought he was quite good. Obviously I was wrong.

Did he not offer to fight Mark King in a boxing match once and then get knocked out, or did I make that up?

I have just read somewhere that in Feb 2006 he received an 8 year ban from snooker. Yeah he did challenge another player to a boxing match, i thought it was Hicks. He seemed a bit of a hot head so it's no surprise Laughing

He boxed a Gaelic football player, got his nose broken and lost, but he beat King in a charity boxing match.

Murphy 14-10 Robertson. That game will resume at 7 o'clock.

Currently Higgins 15-11 Allen. Good fightback from Allen, he was getting hammered. Still a long way to go for him though.

Allen wins another frame to make it 15-12. Gotta hand it to him, he has been brilliant. Not all doom and gloom yet.

Allen misses a sitter of a red and Higgins punishes him with a break of 116. Higgins leads 16-12. Only one frame away from going through to the final.

Higgins is through to the final after beating Mark Allen 17-13.

But who will he face, Murphy or Robertson?

Well done Shaun Murphy, fantastic semi final. He beat Robertson 17-14 and will play John Higgins in the final.

With all the bad treatment Shaun has been getting of late from some sections of the crowd it would be great if he could go onto win it now to shut those fuckers up.
