Blackburn Rovers to swoop for England youth star Oliver Nicholas

Blackburn Rovers are ready to snap up England youth centre-half Oliver Nicholas - after he walked out of his second Premier League club.

Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is taking the highly-rated London teenager on trial and hopes to persuade him to sign a deal for next season.

Nicholas left Manchester City where he spent a few months after quitting Arsenal because of a lack of first-team chances.

City insiders reveal Nicholas was too keen to head back to the capital in his spare time, but Rovers are more interested in his potential.
